Cistermiser saves £millions July 16th 2008 Cistermiser claims its water control products have saved over £250million's worth of water in under two decades. With rapid payback, the company says the product benefits are self evident.
Alongside its flush and control valves, Cistermiser's water-saving products include electronic WC devices plus no-touch taps and showers. It also manufactures a PIR device to save electricity in the washroom. And the firm has many more products in the pipeline.
While water, carbon and cost savings are variable, Cistermiser MD Geoffrey Gestetner says that, using the worst case scenario, a nine litre header tank powering two or three urinals uses 315,000 litres of water per annum. By fitting a Cistermiser valve, consumption is 78,000 litres, saving £474 on water and sewerage costs, and saving 70Kg of carbon dioxide emissions as a result.
